The FIFA 2014 World Cup Final turned out to be a great combination of soccer talent from Europe and South America as Germany beat Argentina 1-0 with a goal by substitute Mario Goetze, who managed to score the only goal of the game that came in the 2nd extra time period.

This turned out to be a soccer game that included oscillating luck at a fast pace that had its highs and lows for both teams. Both teams had their chances, but in minute 113 Goetze made a goal of the highest form, a volley that was certainly worthy of a winning goal to win this 2014 World Cup.  This opportunity came about as substitute Schurrle with only 7 minutes left in extra time passed to the edge at six yards as Goetze freed himself of two defenders controlled the ball, then he volley for goal with Argentinian goalkeeper Romero with no chance to stop the shot. It was a great shot on goal that ended a great game, which was tough on the Argentina team, since most were of the belief the Germans had the best team throughout the tournament. Read more…

As the FIFA World Cup Quarter Finals are now over as those games were played on the 4th and 5th of July 2014, one game that we have not recapped yet is the Argentina and Belgium game which the Albiceleste won 1-0 and are now in the World Cup 2014 semifinals.

In that game Argentina scored early and played the rest of the game managing to withstand whatever the powerful Red Devils of Belgium shot their way.  Yes, the Albiceleste scored just eight (8) minutes into the game which was the only score of the game.  The goal was an excellent shot by Gonzalo Higuain inside the Belgium net near the far post, and the play was nothing less than pure skill by Higuain.

The Belgium Red Devils struggle to come from being a goal behind, but the Argentina defense managed to keep intense pressure against Belgium in their own half of the field.  At the minute 26 of the first half Belgium’s De Bruyne made a spectacular shot on goal, but Sergio Romero provided a safe on the shot.   Read more…
